Romeo del Morgan is the perfect name for that creature! He lives and breathes every syllable of it. I can see he is a delightful companion!
Wow, that coat on Romeo is just gorgeous! Looks very silky to the touch. I've never heard of this breed of dog until reading your blog. I can see why you love them so.
Thank you, Myrl! My mom says the exact same thing...Romeo is a perfect name for him because he's a big hit with all the ladies! :)
Leilani
Cindy, his coat is indeed scrumptious, silky and smooth...it's not "typical" of the breed (the coat is supposed to be more coarse) but I am not complaining at all! :)
Leilani
Gorgeous dog. More weather hitting this week. Heading up to Tahoe to enjoy all the new white stuff next weekend.
Yep, Romeo is perfect name and he exudes silkiness. I never heard of the breed but he reminds me a little of a boxer.
Sue of Robin and Sue
Wowzers! That is one magnificent dog that you have there. He won my heart, so yes, Romeo he is!
Leilani - I was really taken by his colors - it's like a smoky tawny grayish tan. Very interesting.
Great looking pooch...if my memory is correct, he's a champion, right? Have a great day Leilain.
Leilani,
Glad to see you're getting some well deserved relaxation time in.
Have a great week,
Steve
Thank you, Doug! Tahoe should have some great fresh snow next weekend...enjoy! :)
Leilani
Sue, the Cane Corso breed does have some Boxer in it...you have a good eye! :)
Leilani
Awww...thank you, Joni! :)
Leilani
Juli, the closest thing I can find to describe his coat is that it is similar to a deer. In Italian, they call his coloring "formentino" and in English "gray fawn". :)
Leilani
Yes, Anita...you have a great memory! Romeo is a multi-champion as well as a certified therapy dog. :)
Leilani
Steve, thank you...it has been a relaxing weekend! :)
Leilani
I don’t know what I like most. The gorgeous dog or the blue waters. Maybe it’s all of the above.
Hi Bob and Leilani... What a handsome pup! I am a sucker for any dog pictures!
Suesan, I didn't plan on the Lake Tahoe background going so beautifully with Romeo...but looking at it, the blue water, gray rocks and white snow sure do compliment his coat color! :)
Leilani
Thank you, Steve! :)
Leilani
Leilani, you DID pick a name, that sounds like he COMMANDS an presence! It would be nice to visit Tahoe!
Leilani, WOW that is one large dog...he looks biggr than you :-)
Joan, thank you...we call him "Rome" for short and he never fails to turn heads, wherever he goes. :)
Leilani
Mickey, his head is almost twice the size of mine...and he's the largest lap dog I know! :)
Leilani
Love it... He probably loved the feel of the snow on his paws!! (Her)
Leilani,
That is such a well framed shot. Except for the lead, it looks like he could be out on a stroll by himself. :)
Steve
Leilani - Romeo does look more Boxer than Italian!:) Seriously though, he is beautiful. My dog hates water and won't go near it. I think it stems back to trying to introduce him to our pool when he was little!
Chris, Romeo always loves to stay "cool" so yes, I would imagine the snow felt good on his paws! :)
Leilani
Thank you, Steve! We would have loved to let Romeo run free without a lead, but we were not at a designated "off-leash" area for dogs and there were other people around. Of course, I think I could easily make the lead "disappear" using Photoshop! :)
Leilani
DeeDee, Romeo won't "jump" into a body of water like a swimming pool either, but he doesn't have any problems or hesitation walking into water. I guess if we were ever to have a pool again, perhaps it would be nice to have one that has a "beach entry" for him! :)
Leilani
Leilani Romeo is beautiful. Hhhmmm...now where did you get that name from? LOL
Debra, here are a couple little hints about how we came up with Romeo's (pronounced "Ro-MAY-oh") name:
- We were getting a female at about the same time that we named Giulietta. :)
- Both dogs were imported from Italy, where the breed originated from. :)
Leilani
Hmmm....not because of someone's child named Romeo??? You can tell me...LMAO
No, Debra...in fact, I don't even know any human named Romeo...only dogs! :)
Leilani
Yes you do---you know who named their child Romeo don't you???
