Happy 8th Birthday, Romeo! (Cane Corso Italiano)
I know this has been said many times before, but my baby boy will always be my baby boy no matter how old he is in calendar years. Today is Romeo's 8th birthday and I am so thankful to have what I consider to be the perfect dog! He is a Cane Corso that we imported from Genoa, Italy at 2 months of age and he is without a doubt the most intelligent and well-rounded dog we know.
Here are some photos of Romeo from birth to age 7:
Romeo is extremely sweet-tempered and affectionate. He loves to lean on you, lay on your feet, or sit on your lap...and he'll do just about anything for a dog biscuit or a full-body massage! He is an avid kisser and has mastered the art of making people fall in love with him (especially women!)
He is a superb show dog with a proven track record, demonstrating not only powerful fluid movement and outstanding ring presence, but his head turns many heads...especially judges! He's also a natural problem solver and a very clever, quick thinker with an impressive memory and a keen sense of smell. He loves to cuddle, loves to play, loves to have his head and chest rubbed and his tail never stops wagging!
Although Romeo is now retired from the show ring, here is a list of his credentials and accomplishments:

Thanks, Dick and Dixie! Bob and I had a blast campaigning him all over the U.S. and even though we devoted our lives to dog shows for the second half of 2004 (and set our real estate business aside), those wonderful memories will stay with us forever! :)

Hi Leilani, A very nice photo story on Romeo. Happy Birthday Romeo!! What a sweet and wonderful family member. The fact that you show would be great post sometime . Perhaps a full photo story on a contest. I am sure you would already have your hands full but I would bet there would be a lot shared interest here in the Rain. Just a thought.
Thank you, Debi! He's definitely my little-darling-that-can-do-no-wrong! We loved being involved in showing, mostly for the bonding that takes place with your dog...but I have to admit that traveling and winning was a lot of fun, too! :)
Glad you enjoyed the slideshow, Chris...and we're going to celebrate his birthday with a trip to McDonald's McDoggies (as we call it around here) because Romeo not only loves a plain hamburger, but he gets a dog biscuit in the drive-thru! :)
William, thanks for the idea! I never would have thought of writing a blog on showing dogs on AR, but I would LOVE to do that! I just didn't think I would have much of an audience, but now that you mention it...maybe I would? :)
