1st Annual Barrel Tasting Event - Livermore Wine Country, California (Alameda County, CA)
Livermore Valley Wine Country celebrated its first annual barrel tasting event the weekend of March 28-29, 2009. This was the first time we tasted wine from the barrel and it was not only educational but also quite entertaining! We visited 16 different Livermore wineries in two days:
- Deer Ridge Vineyards
- Livermore Valley Cellars
- Steven Kent Winery
- Cuda Ridge Wines
- Wood Family Vineyards
- El Sol Winery
- Garre Vineyard & Winery
- Murrieta's Well
- Bent Creek Winery
- White Crane Winery
- Charles R Vineyard
- Big White House
- McGrail Vineyards & Winery
- Eagle Ridge Vineyard
- Concannon Vineyard
- Fenestra Winery
Our favorite wineries of the weekend: Deer Ridge Vineyards, Bent Creek Winery, Concannon Vineyard and Fenestra Winery.

Leilani, What a fun event to attend! Listing the Vineyard links is a great idea.
Leilani - "Barrel Wine Tasting (testing)" . . .Now there's a dirty job, but I guess someone has to do it. . .LOL
Seriously, it sounds like a wonderful and fun event!
So, teacher's pet (Jeremy's post today), you are entitled to celebrate. But don't get too inebriated as you need to continue your excellent blogging. Congratulations. I have to go back and see what got you the Google award.
Leilani, I love going to wine tasting events..in fact I am going to one tomorrow evening.
Yes, it was a lot of fun, Susan! I listed the links in case anyone wants to read more detailed info about each winery, plus it has a link to their websites from there. :)
Myrl, I love any special event that has to do with wine! My husband even bought me a shirt that says, "Wines Constantly" and it's my favorite one! :)
I didn't know about Jeremy's post, Jane, so thank you for the heads up! Not to worry about me wining and blogging at the same time...hee, hee! :p
Have a wine-derful time tomorrow evening, Rebecca! :)
