It was a combination of the warm sunshine and a Groupon special that brought us to visit OMG! Yogurt at the Blue Oaks Town Center in Rocklin, CA for the first time this afternoon.

We have had the pleasure of experiencing different fro-yo shops in the San Francisco Bay Area, from Palo Alto to Danville, Pleasanton and Brentwood...but this was our first experience having fro-yo in Placer County.

Starting with a friendly welcome and a very helpful & cheerful employee, we had a wonderful experience at Rocklin's OMG! Yogurt. It was pretty refreshing to see the presence of social media there...from QR codes (leading to their Facebook and Twitter pages) to free Wi-Fi for customers of OMG! Yogurt.

Not only is there a choice of 10 frozen yogurt flavors to choose from, but they offer more than 100 different toppings to suit everyone! (I didn't count. They had a sign posted that said "104 Toppings"!)

Here are the 10 froyo flavors at OMG! Yogurt as of today:

  1. Chocolate Hershey's Kisses - nonfat
  2. Country Vanilla - nonfat
  3. Strawberry - no sugar added
  4. Original Tart - nonfat
  5. Dulce de Leche (Caramel) - low fat
  6. New York Cheesecake - nonfat
  7. Red Velvet Cake - low fat
  8. Reese's Peanut Butter
  9. Orange Burst Sorbet - non dairy
  10. Dole Pineapple

I decided to go with my lifetime favorite combination of Chocolate and Reese's Peanut Butter frozen yogurt, topped with chopped Reese's Peanut Butter Cups. Bob went with the luscious Red Velvet Cake frozen yogurt, sprinkled with tiny chocolate & raspberry pieces over the top. We both made excellent choices! :)

Yogofina Frozen Yogurt - Downtown Pleasanton, California (Alameda County, CA)

Yogofina Frozen Yogurt is a self-serve frozen yogurt shop (also called "fro-yo") which are seemingly ubiquitous nowadays throughout California. They all have a variety of flavors that you dispense yourself, then you can add toppings as you please. Once you're done with your yogurt and topping selections, you simply take it to the cashier and place it on a scale because you are charged by the ounce. Most places I've been to in the San Francisco East Bay range from 38 to 43 cents per ounce.

My favorite fro-yo is...Yogofina Frozen Yogurt! It's located in downtown Pleasanton, Alameda county, California. They have the most variety of flavors (fourteen) and two of those are unbelievably, supremely delicious - peanut butter and passion fruit! The nice thing about Yogofina Frozen Yogurt is that they offer fresh fruit toppings...even fresh mango! Other places offer "thawed from frozen" fruit, like strawberries, which I find way too sweet and soggy.

During one of our recent visits to Yogofina Frozen Yogurt, this is what we created: Bob's is on the left with chocolate/vanilla yogurt and heath bar chunks, mine is on the right with peanut butter yogurt and peanut butter cups. Together, they weighed 16.9 oz. including the cups and the price for both was $6.39...not bad for a refreshing dessert for two! :)
