Marco Dog Park in Roseville, CA (Placer County, California)
Who: All dogs who are current on vaccinations, licensed, well-behaved, healthy and not in heat. All humans who pick up after their dogs.
What: A fenced, 3-acre off-leash dog park with small pools, shade trees and non-functional fire hydrants.
Where: 1800 Sierra Gardens Drive, Roseville, CA 95661
When: Closed Thursdays from 6am-10am. Subject to closure during the winter season because the ravine also serves as a flood control reservoir.
Why: In 1997, Roseville opened its first dog park which was named after Marco, a 6-year old Belgian Malinois. He was a Roseville Police K-9 and served with Officer Allison for 2 years before he was shot and killed on duty during a drug raid in June 1996.
